Species
Arabica is the dominant specialty species, originating in the southwestern Ethiopian highlands (and historically Yemen). Plants prefer higher elevations and milder temperatures; cups typically show brighter acidity and more aromatic complexity than canephora. Legacy coffee_beans ranges below are SPECIES-LEVEL TYPICAL bands migrated as-is — not universal.
Sources: WCR Arabica history; FAO/ICO species framing. Cert booleans from legacy coffee_beans (organic/fairtrade/RA=true, specialty_grade=true) are lot-level marketing flags — NOT stored as species truth. Optional soft link: commodities.name='Coffee' (not set in seed).
